Appearance: The Chow Chow features a distinct look characterized by powerful, compact, deep-chested aristocrat (up to 20 inches). distinctive lion's-mane ruff, blue-black tongue, deep-set almond eyes (scowling, snobbish expression), stiff-legged gait. rough or smooth coats (red, black, blue, cinnamon, cream). It's a style that says 'I'm ready for anything,' even if 'anything' just means a long nap.
