Appearance: Massive (males up to 150 lbs, 28 inches), strikingly large, powerful working dog. Heavy bone, dignified bearing. Majestic head, soft soulful expression. Flat, coarse outer coat (colors: gray, brown, black, black/white Landseer). World's biggest dogs. Often called Newf or Newfie.

Traits & Characteristics: Sweet-tempered (most important characteristic). Famously good companion, patient/watchful 'nanny dog' for kids. Affinity for kids is key trait. Trusting, trainable, respond well to gentle guidance. Noble giants. Acquiring one is obvious challenge due to size.
